I am Kolkata is the Social Development wing of Merlin Group. The genesis of I am Kolkata is envisaged by Mr. Saket Mohta, founder of I am Kolkata and MD of Merlin Group.
The vision of I am Kolkata is to contribute to the holistic development of the community at large as part of the corporate citizenship programme. To bring fruition to our vision, we aim to undertake activities that range from sustainable development to women empowerment including child welfare.
We will focus on initiatives that include environment protection, Health, Culture, Education and all round development of children, skill development of young unemployed youngsters, livelihood development and care for elderly population. Apart from these we will also focus on the preservation of the heritage and intangible art form of Kolkata and West Bengal.

2. Integrated Solid Waste Management Project
Project details : We will develop different IEC tools to generate awareness among the urban population. We will organize drama, distribute handbills and etc.
Through different IEC tools we will spread awareness among the urban community residents. We will create community leaders as supervisors who can monitor and lead the project. We will provide awards and certificates to the best community leaders.
